Clarice Reid, senior data scientist, began working at Slingshot Aerospace in 2022. Ms. Reid has worked with the artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) team to develop algorithms for classification, interpretation, and prediction of satellite behavior for improved space situational awareness. Her current focus is aimed at investigating the behaviors of space objects using machine learning, deep learning, and AI.
Prior to joining Slingshot, Clarice worked as a data scientist for a finance startup, helping large financial institutions develop machine learning models aimed at reducing fraud. Systems included wire fraud detection, a model that predicted future credit card scams, and the creation of a web portal that scraped suspicious advertisements from the dark web in order to identify potential instances of human trafficking.
Ms. Reid received her Bachelor of Arts in Cognitive Science and her Master of Science degree in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Georgia, where she specialized in natural language processing, graph networks, and sentiment analysis.
